of the Odebolt Betterment Committee (.pdf file).

Excerpts:

Rural Legacy Project: The heating and cooling unit is ready to be installed and Neville Const. should be placing the siding soon. Permission was given to place a bronze educational statue on the greenspace property.  Carol Raasch will ask for City Council approval. The Rural Legacy Committee is planning on having a ribbon cutting ceremony for the school during Odebolt Creek Days. 2013; they have invited Governor Brandstad to this event, but they will not know if he will attend until 4-6 weeks before the event.

Peterson Home project:
OBC members will attend the Sac Co. Endowment Foundation schooling to apply for the grant. Madeline will be working on this grant; she will get the approval from OBC, Questors and City Council to apply for this grant.  The grant will be for the replacement of the roof with metal shingles, replacing the back door, and some minor repairs.
Kris and Bob Ziegmann have donated time and material for painting the basement door and attaching it to its base. Kris has submitted the second report to the Sac Co. Endowment and has requested the final report. Kris and Deb will work on this in Oct.
We discussed the placement of the flag pole, the pump, and the barn quilt. It was discussed that the flag pole should be erected between the school and the house. Kris was not able to attend the meeting, but requested that $500 to be included with the INS grant money, be put aside in the Peterson House account to cover the cost of landscaping. J&A Lawncare will do this project in the Spring.

City Park:  Linda has finished painting the trim around the bathroom windows, Joan reported that the hole by the shelter house has been filled, and Kerry reported that the fence around the women’s bathroom does not need to be painted.

We have someone interested in purchasing a bench for the Pioneer House.  It was decided the cost would be $800.00. Deb will call them and let them know of the price.

We have received an application for Trees Please grant. Elaine will work on this.

At this time we have had 3,547 hits on our blog. Thank you to Bonnie and Barb for doing a great job on this web page.
