There were no bills presented to be paid at this time. Carol motioned to accept the treasurer’s report, Elaine seconded. All ayes.

Carol gave an update on the Rural School museum. They have decided to change the size of the outdoor classroom and continue to apply for grants for this project. They are planning quarterly events such as an ice cream social, old fashion games, and a box social at the School Museum.

Kris updated on the Peterson Pioneer Home. She has contacted Mark Horsley about replacing windows and siding and we hope that this can be done by Creek Days. We will be planning a paint party when weather permits to have the siding ready for him to install.

Deb and Steph are planning on attending the Western Iowa Tourism meeting on Feb. 19 at Boulders in Denison. The price for this meeting will be $65 a piece because the meeting will be all day and there will be 2 speakers. Steph asked if OBC would be interested in paying $25 a piece with Steph and Deb paying the difference. Carol motioned to pay $25 a piece and Kris seconded. All ayes. Steph and Deb will report on the meeting next month.

Kris gave a report on the brochures. Deb and Kris have been working with Mary Beth at the Chronicle and the brochures are real close to being critiqued and ready for the printer. Deb will contact the SETD and see if they mail them to the Visitor’s Centers for us and if we need to mail them, see if they can give us a list of the Centers. It was decided that we would go with the blue, white and yellow stripe. Kris has emailed the information for the chance to get on a bus tour. We are waiting to hear back from them.

Deb reported that Kerry has talked to Vance about the cutting boards and they should be ready to sale within 2 weeks. When they are available we will send a press release to the newspaper. Kerry has also talked to M43 Chrome shop and Travis is planning to start work on the plaque for City Hall sometime within the next week. Kerry also talked to Grant about installing plug- ins on the light poles in the Greenspace so we can decorate for Christmas in the future. We have taken the flags down at the Greenspace and will put new ones up in the Spring.

Linda has signed the contract for the Creek Days Pancake Brunch. Kerry will talk to Greg to verify the use of the Fire Station for this occasion.

Carol and Joel are working together on the popcorn building. They will be talking to some of the contractors on this project.

Elaine reported that April 3, 2014 is the Tree City USA luncheon in Johnston, Iowa.

We have decided that we will not pursue the door to door Welcome Wagon, but we will prepare a bag of Odebolt information for the City Clerk to hand out when they sign up for water service.

City Hall has asked if we are interested in helping with a project in the tennis court area. After some discussion it was decided that we would think about it and discuss more at next month’s meeting.

The next meeting will be held on Mar. 11 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.

Secretary/Treasurer Deb Reinhart
