Iowa Rural School Museum open Dec. 6 and 7

ACTIVITIES AT THE RURAL SCHOOL MUSEUM FOR DECEMBER

Area elementary children of the Odebolt-Arthur School District have made some decorations after school at the Odebolt Public Library, under the direction of Barb Bloom.  These are decorations that will be displayed in the Rural School Museum of Odebolt throughout the Christmas Holiday Season.  The decorations will be representative of how the children of rural schools went all out to decorate their schools for the Christmas programs they put on for their families, making strings of popcorn and cranberries and paper chains to decorate the rooms and trees.

To show off the decorations and the Rural School Museum, we will be open following the Odebolt Christmas Celebration on Saturday, December 6th, from 12:00 to 2:00.  The School Museum is heated so comfortable viewing will not be a problem.

We will also be open the next day, on Sunday December 7th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. to complement the PEO Memorial Tree activities across the street at the Odebolt Historical Museum.

Any other time that you wish to visit the Rural School Museum, or to show it off to your visitors, please call 712-668-4285 or 830-8328 and make your arrangements with Carol Raasch
