October Minutes

The Odebolt Betterment Committee met Oct . 9, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.

Present were Carol Raasch, Kris Ziegmann, Jim Mickelson, Elaine Rex, Joan Godbersen, Linda Godbersen, Joel Ahart, Kerry and Deb Reinhart, Jack Bensley, and Madeline Meyer.

Kris motioned to accept the minutes of previous meeting as written, Jack seconded. All ayes.

Treasurer report at this time is $7,396.63. Breakdown as followed.
Undesignated: $ 591.95
City Park: $2,843.75
Greenspace: $11.55
Sign Landscape: $61.00
Peterson Pioneer House: $3,888.41

Elaine made a motion to accept the treasurer report, Joel second. All ayes.

There is $300.91 in Iowa State Bank for upkeep on the Triangle Park. There is $3,040.00 in the City account for the Peterson Pioneer house from the Renze grant.

Carol gave an update on the Rural School. She has met with the Council and they have given their approval for the statue that will be placed in the Greenspace at a later date. They have the insulation in; the siding installed, and hopefully will be painted sometime this fall.

Kris reported that she will deliver the final report to the Sac Co. Endowment for last year’s grant funding.

Madeline reported that Neville Const. has finished up with the siding. She has delivered the 2012 Sac Co. Endowment grant to Sac City. We are asking for $4,138.00 to replace the Pioneer house and porch roof and the back door. Security system has been installed. Kerry has agreed to get padlocks for the breaker boxes at the Greenspace and the Pioneer house. Curt Wareham, Jack Bensley and Christy Hoefling have agreed to be contacts on the security system.

There was nothing to report on the City Park at this time.

Kerry gave report on the Greenspace that there has been damage to the flag light and a photo eye. We have priced these items and Joan motioned that the OBC order these items and pay for them from undesignated funds, Kris second. All ayes. Kerry will attend the Council meeting to see if they will be responsible for future maintenance on the Greenspace.

Elaine is working on the Tree grant from Mid American.

Dennis Lindskoog has ordered a bench in honor of his parents. This bench will be placed in front of the Pioneer house at a later date.

The next meeting will be Nov. 13th at 6:00 at City Hall.
